Adjective Agreement

Adjectives must agree in gender, number, and case with the noun they describe. In the Nominative Singular, adjectives have three forms:

1. Masculine: ends in a consonant or -i:

nov / novi (new) -> novi mobitel (new phone).

2. Feminine: ends in -a:

nova -> nova torba (new bag).

3. Neuter: ends in -o or -e:

novo -> novo stablo (new tree).

Common adjectives:

velik / velika / veliko (big)

malen / malena / maleno (small)

star / stara / staro (old)

lijep / lijepa / lijepo (beautiful)

dobar / dobra / dobro (good)
